Ready-To-Install Pipe Tracing Cables

Avoid costly damage due to a burst water pipe this winter!
Rely on the proven performance of EasyHeat™ pipe tracing products.

Tired of worrying about a frozen water pipe?  If so, a simple and economical solution to pipe freeze protection problems is readily available and easy to install.  Referred to as "Pipe Tracing", "Heat Tape", or "Electric Heat Tracing", this system of maintaining or raising the temperature of water in rigid plastic and metal pipes has been around since the 1930's.  By simply installing a length of pipe tracing heat cable along the length of a water pipe, temperatures can be maintained above freezing, and minimize the risk of ruptured pipes and the resulting water damage that can occur.

Available in pre-assembled units of fixed resistance (constant wattage), or self-regulating (variable wattage) cables, EASYHEAT® makes it simple to protect your water pipes during the cold winter months.  As the names imply, constant wattage cables are turned ON & OFF by a thermostat that monitors the temperature of the pipe, and energizes the cable when it falls below a preset temperature.  Consequently, the cable is de-energized when the temperature of the pipe goes above a preset temperature.  Self-regulating cables on the other hand are designed to vary their heat output as the surrounding temperature changes.  This self-regulation does not require the use of a thermostat, and is more economical than a fixed resistance cable.  Because self-regulating cables don't ever really shut-off, it is however necessary to unplug, or switch off power to, the cable during the warm months of the year.  This will avoid over-heating and possible damage to the cable.

All pipe trace cable types are applied directly to the pipe and connected to a power supply.  Be sure to refer to a particular product's installation instructions for proper sizing, positioning, attachment, and insulation requirements.
